Blessing of Africa_who we are

Our Mission

Blessings on Africa is a US-based Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting poverty and related injustice in West Africa through microfinance, education, health, and technology, one village at a time.

Our Vision

Blessings Africa aspires aspire to become a leading organization and a partner of choice when it comes to fighting poverty and related injustice in Africa.

Our History

In 2004, a team from Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church visited Agome Tomegbe, a small village in Togo, West Africa with the intent of building a new church there. After a period of over 2 weeks, it became very clear that there were many other more pressing needs. Poverty is rampant as the price of coffee, the main source of insurance has dropped significantly. The infrastructure is in shamble and health care is appalling. Children can go to school only if they have money for uniforms, tuition and books. The water supply is inadequate and polluted and unemployment is widespread. The list goes on.

Perhaps, the most disturbing element of this state of affairs is the orphans of Agome Tomegbe and surrounding areas. AIDS, poverty and poor health care resources have led to an increase in the number of children with no parents. Since these orphans have nothing, they cannot even go to school; thus, are doomed to a life of further poverty and hopelessness. But it is not just their future that is in jeopardy; none of these children have three meals a day; in fact most of them are lucky to eat a small meal every two days and yet children as young as 5 years old must work in the mountainous fields in the hot tropical countryside just to survive.

Koffi Klu, one of the mission's team members was moved to tears by the plight of the orphans and immediately set about rectifying the situation. Thus the orphanage program Grace Orphanage was established in 2008 for the purpose of sponsoring orphans and poor children. Soon, we realized that Grace Orphanage was addressing just one aspect of a larger problem called "POVERTY". Blessings On Africa was then created with the sole mission to fight poverty in Africa one village at a time.

From the President

Giving in Gratitude

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Africa is the poorest continent on earth. Every night, hundreds of millions of African children go to bed hungry. Hunger and poverty in Africa are caused by factors such as decades of under investment in rural areas, which have little political clout, wars and political conflicts, leading to refugees and instability, HIV/Aids depriving families of their most productive labor, natural disasters, high population growth, and mismanagement.

As a Christian organization, Blessings on Africa, Inc. is committed to help reduce poverty, improve living conditions for marginalized and disadvantaged communities and mobilize resources for West Africa's economic and social development.

We have embraced the Millennium Development Goals of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality and empowering women, reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, combating HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases, ensuring environmental sustainability, developing a global partnership for development.

Blessings on Africa is dedicated to mobilizing resources in North America, Europe, and Africa to fund projects that address grassroots economic and social problems in West Africa. We work directly with very low-income people and marginalized groups.

Our programs such as projects designed to reduce gender inequalities in Togo, well drilling in Ghana or orphans sponsoring in Liberia have a long-lasting impact on the beneficiaries and their communities.

We cannot fight the war against poverty alone. Our ministry needs you in finding lasting ways to improve the lives of marginalized communities in West Africa. Together, we can make a difference in bridging the gap between those who have more than enough and those who are lacking bare essentials.

Please join us today and show your gratitude to God for his abundance by helping those less fortunate. Please help us give hope and assistance to disadvantaged communities in Africa and lift them out of poverty.

May the Almighty richly and abundantly bless you.

In His Name!

Koffi D. Klu, MBA
President, Blessings on Africa, Inc.
